Couvre and Toppik products |
| Question: |
Hello Dr. Bernstein,
I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer a question for me. I am a male
suffering from hair loss. I have been covering it up very well for
the last year using Toppik and Couvre hair products. I had hair transplants
done 2 years ago and even right after my surgery I carried on using
them to cover up the bald areas. However, I just returned from a consultation
with a new doctor to get some more hair transplants done and he said
NOT to use them anymore because they damage the follicle and prevent
growth. He said that I cannot use them after my surgery! These were
the products that made it possible for me to have the first surgery
done in the first place! Can you please tell me if it is true that
they are harmful to the results after the surgery? Any advice you can
provide is greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance,
ash

| Answer: |
Toppik and Couvre may be used after surgery. However, I would suggest waiting
a week before using them. You should further discuss your concerns about
this with your hair transplant surgeon.
Sincerely,
Drs. Bernstein and Badamo
