Robert Haber, MD is a Board Certified Dermatologist specializing in the practice of Hair Restoration Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and faculty member of University Hospitals of Cleveland. These academic affiliations require Dr. Haber to maintain the highest level of surgical skills and ethics.
Dr. Haber is considered one of the leading experts in the field of hair restoration surgery, and regularly lectures nationally and internationally. He was elected by his peers to serve as President, Treasurer and Board member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and served as Program Chair of its Annual Meeting in Barcelona in 1997. Dr. Haber is one of a small handful of surgeons who have attended every meeting of the ISHRS since its creation in 1993.
Dr. Haber is the founder and director of the University Hair Transplant Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he and his team perform exclusively follicular unit transplantation. His personal attention to each patient and ethical reputation bring him patients and referrals from throughout the United States and the world.
Dr. Haber currently serves as Co-Editor of the Hair Transplant Forum International, a Journal read by surgeons throughout the world.
Dr. Haber has received many awards from his peers. In 1995, he was honored with the first Award of Excellence granted by the ISHRS in recognition of his innovative techniques. In 1998, he was recognized as a Surgeon of the Month by the Hair Transplant Forum International, and Dr. Haber was voted One of Ohio’s Top Doctors by Northern Ohio Live Magazine in 2001.
The Italian Society of Hair Restoration has recognized Dr. Haber with the Archimedes Award in 2001, the Michelangelo Award in 2002, the Rome Award for Ethics in 2003, and the Ghirlandina Award in 2005. Locally his techniques and successful results have been featured on television as well as in The Plain Dealer.
Dr. Haber has co-authored two major textbooks in the field of hair restoration surgery "Hair Replacement- Surgical and Medical" in 1996, and “Hair Transplantation” in 2006, recognized as authoritative reference textbooks. In addition, he has authored eight textbook chapters, published 16 original reports, and has presented over 80 papers at meetings throughout the world.
Dr. Haber has been invited to speak about and teach his surgical techniques throughout the United States, and internationally in Canada, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, Mexico, and England.
