Dr. Dow Stough, MD began performing hair transplantation in 1987. He initially practiced with his father, Dr. Blu Stough, one of the hair transplant surgeon pioneers.
Dr. Stough is recognized as one of the leading hair transplant surgeons in the nation today. His commitment to educating his patients, his highly trained staff, and honest approach to this specialty equals very pleased patients.
He was awarded the Golden Follicle Award in 1999 by his peers. The Golden Follicle is awarded annually to one hair transplant surgeon in the world. Dr. Dow Stough received this honor for his continued research and commitment to advancing the practice of hair restoration.
Dr. Stough performs all procedures, himself. He does not have a chain of clinics to oversee. This keeps him concentrated on his patients and ways to improve on his techniques. He started transplanting single hair grafts in 1991, before it became the industry standard. He now performs follicular unit hair transplantation exclusively.
Our staff is highly trained and on average has worked over 7 years with Dr. Stough.
They are routinely invited to teach other hair transplant surgeon’s staff. They have traveled all over the United States as well as Saudi Arabia, Greece, Canada, and Thailand.
Undetectable hairlines are Dr. Stough's central focus. He coined the term "Feathering Zone" to describe his soft, natural approach. He creates a very irregular zone of hair transitioning from the forehead to the hairline. This irregular zone is not abrupt or obvious. He takes great pride in creating hairlines that are undetectable and completely natural. Dr. Stough believes “if you can see a hair transplant, it's not a good one."
Dr. Stough has two practices for the convenience of his patients. An office located in Dallas, Texas and the other in Hot Springs, Arkansas with the entire staff traveling together between the offices.
